Julia Klimek

Polish-born pianist, Julia Klimek, was described as ‘flamboyant’ by The Guardian following her debut at the world-renowned Wigmore Hall. As a direct result of that outstanding critical success, she was invited to mark the Weinberg Centenary at the University of Manchester and to perform alongside the cellist Adrian Brendel and the Australian-born conductor, writer and broadcaster Professor Raymond Holden AM.

Ms Klimek’s performances haveresonated internationally and have captivated audiences in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Poland, Sweden, Canadaand the Czech Republic amongst others. Along with the Wigmore Hall, her music-making has been experienced by enthusiastic audiences at Venice’s Fenice Palace and Ukraine’s Lviv Philharmonic Hall. She has also played before members of the British royal family and descendants of the former Austria-Hungarian aristocracy.

In 2020, Ms Klimek graduated from the Royal Academy of Music with Distinction and was awarded the DipRAM for outstanding performance in a final recital and the Regency Award in recognition of her consistently exceptional level of achievement. Whilst at the Academy, she initiated the Student Union Choir and was the founder of the ISH Concert Series at the International Students House, London.

 

Since September 2023, she has been the artistic director of The Musicians of London, an ensemble that brings together outstanding young professional musicians from across the globe. With that group, she has performed and explored a plethora of different repertoires and art forms. These explorations have resulted incollaborations with guests from leading academic, dance, theatre and visual-arts organisations.

 

Ms Klimek has a special affinity with painting, poetry and ballet, and is now particularly sought after for her readings of music from the late nineteenth and twentieth-centuries and the works of women composers. She is also a passionate educator and is currently a member of the Junior Royal Academy of Music’s teaching staff and Arnold House School. Ms Klimek is also regularly invited to give masterclasses around the world and is a jury member for a number of international music competitions.
